Mon anniversaire

Mi-septembre, j’ai fêté mon anniversaire (43 ans, si vous voulez tout savoir).

J’ai passé une excellente journéeavec ma famille et des amis. Quand nous avons vu que la météo allait être excellente, nous avons décidé d’aller faire un pique-nique à Greenway – la maison d’Agatha Christie dans le Devon.

Après avoir savouré des scones salés et plats délicieux, nous nous sommes promenés dans les jardins de la propriété : un vrai bonheur ! Les vues panoramiques de la rivière Dart sont simplement magnifiques et j’aurais pu être dans l’une des histoires de la célèbre romancière quand je me promenais dans les allées, ou près du ponton à bateaux.

Il y avait beaucoup de monde pour visiter la maison, alors nous avons décidé de ne pas y aller, mais plutôt de revenir un autre jour, quand le bureau sera aussi accessible.

Si un jour vous avez la possibilité de venir à Greenway, je vous le conseille vivement ! (Il faut juste réserver son ticket auprès du National Trust)

 

Mid-September, I celebrated my birthday (I’m now 43, if you were wondering)

I spent an excellent day with family and friends. When we saw that the weather forecast was going to be so good, we decided to have a picnic at Greenway – Agatha Christie’s house in Devon.

After eating a few savoury scones and other delicacies, we went for a walk in the gardens of the property: what a treat! The panoramic views of the river Dart are simply magnificent, and I totally could see myself in one of the author’s stories whilst walking through the alleys or standing by the boathouse.

There were a lot of people wanting to visit the house, so we decided not to go that day, but rather to come back another time, when the study will also accessible.

If one day you have the possibility to come to Greenway, I strongly advise you to do so! (you just need to book your ticket with the National Trust)
