Ma vie là!

Pour notre jour ferie (premier lundi de mai), nous avons decide d'eviter les foules et d'aller explorer les environs.... Nous avons commence avec une jardinerie qui fait aussi brocante. Et quand le proprietaire a propose a NathaN de monter dans le leve-charge, il etait aux anges! Ensuite, nous sommes alles a Prestbury, pour une petite promenade le long de la riviere. Et pour finir cette journee estivale (creme solaire obligatoire!), nous avons retrouve Mike et Fiona a Poynton pour une promenade au bord d'un reservoir.

For our bank holiday, we decided to avoid the crowds, and explore our local area... We started by stopping at a garden centre with a salvage yard. When the owner suggested to NathaN that he could climb into the "lift-machine" (?), NathaN was beyond himself! Then we went to Prestbury, for a little stroll along the river. And to end this truly summery day (sun cream compulsory!), we met up with Fiona and Mike in Poynton for a walk around a reservoir.

Vendredi soir, NathaN etait super content car son copain Raphael est venu dormir a la maison!!! Il ont bien joue apres leur diner, puis c'etait l'heure d'aller au lit: 2 matelas  par terre l'un a cote de l'autre dans la chambre de NathaN - ils etaient aux anges! Je dois dire qu'ils se sont endormis bien plus facilement que je ne m'y attendais. Le lendemain, petit dejeuner sur leur table, "comme au restaurant". Ensuite ils sont tous les 2 alles a la Petite Ecole Francaise. En rentrant, ils ont fait un mini-concert, puis nous sommes alles dans un coffee-shop pour manger tous ensemble, avant le depart de Raphael. Ils se sont vraiment bien amuses, et il n'y a plus qu'a recommencer!  

On Friday night,  NathaN was really excited because his friend Raphael came for a sleepover!!! They played lots after dinner time, then it was time for bed: 2 mattresses on the floor next to each other in NathaN's room - they were beyond themselves! I must say that they fell asleep really easily. The next day, breakfast on their little table, "like at the restaurant!. Then they wen to French School. When they got back, they had a little jamming session, before heading for lunch at our local coffee-shop. And then it was time for Raphael to go. They really had a great time; it won't be the last one!

Hier, nous sommes alles dejeuner dans la region des Peaks, pres de Hayfield, dans un pub tres charmant, le Waltzing Weasel. Nous y etions deja venus il y a 3 ans, la, quand NathaN avait 6 mois, pour l'anniversaire de TataVic. Tout etait exactement comme il y a 3 ans... sauf qu'il n'y avait personne! A 13h, un dimanche de printemps, pas un chat! La nourriture etait bonne, sans etre extraordinaire, et le menu semble avoir beaucoup changer (tres reduit). Mais vu ce que l'on sert ailleurs, je ne comprends vraiment pas pourquoi ce pub est deserte... Si vous passez par la, je vous conseille vivement d'y aller!

Yesterday, we went out for lunch in the Peak District, near Hayfield, in a very charming pub, the Waltzing Weasel. We had visited 3 years previously, there, when Nathan was 6 months, for TataVic's birthday. Everything was exactly the same as 3 years ago... except that there was noone! At 1pm, on a Spring Sunday, not a soul! Food was good, without being exceptionnal, and the menu may have shrunk over the years. But bearing in mind what you get served in some places, I really don't understand why this pub was so empty today... If you're in the area, you should stop by!

Le Printemps arrive enfin, on peut se mettre au jardinage! Avec son petit arrosoir rouge, il est fier! Il arrose toute les plantes, et il se prend aussi pour Sam le Pompier: il va eteindre les incendies! Quelle imagination... 

Spring is finally here, we can potter about in the garden! With his red watering can, he is rather proud of himself! He has already watered all the plants, and he pretends to be Fireman Sam: he goes on mission to stop fires! What an imagination...

Aujourd'hui, nous sommes allés au deuxième cours de natation de NathaN. Il adore! Il est tres confiant dans l'eau et il commence (doucement) a mettre la tete dans l'eau!

Today we went to NathaN's second swimming lesson. He loves it! He is very confident in the water and he is starting (slowly) to put his head in the water
