Ma vie là!

Ce matin, quand je suis entre doucement dans la chambre de mon petit bonhomme, je l'ai sorti de son lit, et puis le temps de quelques secondes, mais de ces secondes dont on se souvient, il m'a fait un calain - un vrai - un qu'on n'oublie pas. Encore plein de son sommeil, il avait ses petites mains autour de mon cou, je me suis mise a repenser a notre "petite boule", a notre petit bebe a sa naissance, qui se recroquevillait sur lui meme pour se caler au creux de nous. Maintenant, du haut de ses 18 mois (et plus), il ne fait pas souvent de calain. Mais ce matin...

This morning, when I went quietly into my little boy's room, I got him out of his cot, and there, the time of a few seconds, but those seconds you remember, he gave me a cuddle - a real one - one you don't forget. Still full of sleep, he had his little hands around my neck, and it reminded me of our "little ball", our little baby when he was born, who would curl up to snuggle into us. Now, at 18 months (and more), he doesn't often give us a cuddle. But this morning...  

Un autre week-end qui se termine...

Une sortie chez des amis (et plein de calins avec Isaac) / un pique-nique "indoors" a cause du mauvais temps / un petit tour au Family Festival du coin (malgre le mauvais temps) / une soiree Eurovision pleine de surprise / un dimanche tout en douceur (ou je n'ai pas pointe le nez dehors - merci la pluie!) / et pour finir un petit coup de fil a Lyon pour lui feter son anniversaire

Another weekend coming to an end...

Meeting up with some friends and their little Isaac / an indoor-picnic because of the bad weather / a stroll around the Family Festival (despite the bad weather) / a Eurovision party full of surprises / a cosy Sunday (I haven't stepped outside - merci la pluie!) / and finally a phone call to Lyon to wish her a Happy Birthday

Aahh! l'Angleterre!!.... ce n'est pas souvent, mais cette semaine, je me dis vraiment ce serait surement mieux ailleurs! Pas une seule journee sans pluie... et quand je dis pluie - il s'agit de deluge! Alors comment je fais moi avec mes jolies robes/jupes? Je ne vais tout de meme pas ressortir mes tailleurs d'hiver! Alors sans surprise, on a passer notre apres-midi "indoors" avec NathaN hier. On a mijote de bons petits plats pour toute la famille; enfin quand je dis "bon", c'est subjectif il parait: NathaN n'a pas l'air d'aimer la puree du jour :(

Aahh! England!!.... it's not often, but this week, I really think that it would be better somewhere else! Not a single day without rain... and when I say rain - I mean RAIN! So what am I suppose to where? I really don't want to get my winter suits out again! We're in May after all! So no surprise if I tell you that we spent yesterday afternoon indoors with NathaN. We cooked some really yummy dishes for all the family; well when I say "yummy", apparently it's subjective because NathaN doesn't seem to like the puree du jour :(

Aujourd'hui, c'etait la photo de "classe"...a la creche. Alors NathaN avait mis sa belle chemise et le joli pull que MamieCo lui avait offert. Maintenant nous avons hate de voir le resultat!

Today, it was the "class" photo...at nursery. So NathaN put on his best shirt and jumper that MamieCo had bought him. Now we are looking forward to the results!

Les vacances n'ont pas dure un mois... mais pas loin....? Depuis la rentree, je n'ai enseigne qu'un cours! Demain va changer tout ca puisque j'ai une journee pleine. Les vacances de Paques ont ete tres estivales pour nous. Le mariage de mon cher cousin (pas William) fut l'occasion de passer quelques jours a Vincennes chez des amis. On ne s'attendait pas a tant de soleil, et il a fallu faire du shopping pour NathaN car il n'avait aucune tenue d'ete! Puis nous sommes alles rejoindre le reste de la famille a Verdun ou nous avons passe un excellent week-end avec tout notre petit monde. Je n'avais jamais eu l'occasion d'assister a un mariage en plein air: quelle ambiance unique! Et a notre retour en Angleterre, nos amis de Rouen nous attendait pour faire un bon barbecue ;) Depuis, William s'est aussi marie (merci pour le jour de conges), l'ecole a recommence, j'ai fait passe une trentaine d'oraux, et nous preparons (deja) notre prochain voyage- dans trois semaines! Enfin bon, le temps passe et si je ne me remets pas a ecrire ce blog, il risque de disparaitre!

The holidays didn't last a month, but not far from it...! Since being back at school, I've only taught one lesson! Tomorrow all this will change as I have a full day. The Easter holiday were very summery for us. My cousin's wedding (not William!) was the occasion to spend a few days near Paris with some friends. We didn't expect so much sunshine, and we had to go shopping for NathaN as he didn't have any summer clothes! Then we went to Verdun to meet up with the rest of the family, where we spent an excellent weekend. I'd never had the occasion to attend an outdoor wedding: what a great atmosphere! And as we got back to England, our friends from Rouen were already expecting us to have a barbecue;) Since then, William got married too (thanks for the extra day off), school started, I've done around 30 speaking exams, and we are (already) planning our next trip - in 3 weeks! Anyway, time flies and if I don't start writing this blog again, it could disappear!

Ok, l'ecole est finie, mais le boulot continue: je pars pour la Normandie avec 40 eleves en voyage scolaire. Vivement le 15 avril quand je serai vraiment en vacances! Ca veut aussi dire que je dis au-revoir a mes hommes pour une semaine; c'est la premiere fois que je laisse NathaN aussi longtemps (jusqu'ici, ce n'etait que quelques heures). Heureusement, je sais que tout ira bien puisqu'il sera avec son Papa.

Great, school is over, but work isn't: I'm off to Normandy with 40 pupils on a school trip. I can't wait for the 15th April when I'm really on holiday! It also means that I'm saying goodbye to my men for a week; it's the first time that I'm leaving NathaN for so long (until now, it had only been a few hours). But I know everything will be fine as he'll be with his Papa.

Avec quelques semaines jours d'avance (eh oui, la Fete des Meres, c'est dimanche en Angleterre), mon petit bonhomme m'a offert ses premiers cadeaux hier. Sans l'aide de personne, il a choisi LE caillou et LA brindille qui allaient bien. Merci mon ange! Et puis a la creche, il m'a aussi prepare une jolie carte et un petit coloriage.

A few weeks days early (well, in France, Mothers' Day is at the end of May), my little man gave me his very first presents yesterday. Without the help of anyone, he chose THE pebble and THE twig that he wanted for his Mum. Merci my little angel! And at nursery, he also prepared a card and little colouring.

Ce week-end, nous sommes alles a Liverpool... et quelle surprise! Notre derniere visite dans la ville des Beatles etait en 2008 et ca donnait ca:

This weekend, we went to Liverpool...and what a surprise! Our last visit to the city dated back to 2008, and it looked like this:

On a fait un peu de shopping, puis on a mange des tapas dans un restaurant catalan (comme si on y etait!), puis on alles chez notre ami Mike avec tous nos amis: Fiona, Becky et Johnathan. Comme ca NathaN a pu se coucher tot (enfin presque), et nous, on a papote et delire jusqu'a minuit. Et puis ce matin, hop, le parc, avant d'aller bruncher dans un cafe tres sympa! Liverpool, on y retournera!

We did a bit of shopping, we had some tapas in a Catalan restaurant (you'd think you were there!), then we went back to Mike's with all our friends: Fiona, Becky, Johnathan. So NathaN could have an early night (or nearly), and we could catch up and party till midnight. And this morning, hop, the park (supposedly, the one that inspired Central Park, NY!), before going for a brunch in a lovely little cafe! Liverpool, we'll be back!
